Liana Ghaltaghchyan is the new Managing Director at the Children of Armenia Fund

Children of Armenia Fund (COAF) has appointed Liana Ghaltaghchyan as its Managing Director. She will be leading operations, legal, and finance functions.

Liana’s experience will help facilitate the Fund’s next expansion phase in rural communities across Armenia and Artsakh. She brings extensive experience coordinating key sectors of healthcare, education, and social affairs in her previous role as Deputy Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister of Armenia.

In the past, Liana has worked at the heart of the Armenian legislative system in the Ministry of Justice. Throughout her career, she held leadership positions in various organizations, including the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and Transparency International Anti-corruption Center.

Liana’s responsibilities will include scaling the SMART Center model. This center provides the best of after-school education, adult education, language, child development, technology,
arts, health, and sports programs for Armenia’s rural communities.

The first SMART Center was established in 2018 in Lori province.

In the next five years, the Fund will launch four additional SMART Centers in Armavir, Syunik (Kapan and Goris) regions, and Shirak with an investment exceeding $50 million.
