Author, bibliographer, translator and public speaker Hovsep Nalbandian has published his newest book: “Armenian Language”.
Nalbandian has been writing and spreading Armenian books in the last 12 years. He is a book lover. His own library has 4500 volumes. Himself he has authored and published 10 volumes, under the title LOUYS (Light in Armenian). He has written more than 240 articles.
From March 2011 until today Nalbandian has published four complete books, all dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the first published Armenian book.
The latest book “Light” comes in 378 pages, including 14 colorful pages.
As a preface he has chosen an excerpt by Professor Levon Khacherian.
The book has the following sections:
a) Western Armenian authors: 60 poems.
b) Eastern Armenian authors: 140 poems.
c) Armenians about the Armenian language: 61 writings.
d) Quotations on the Armenian language.
e) Foreigners about the Armenian language.
Nalbandian has worked hard to make a collection of best poems and prose on Armenian language. The book has an impressive collection of views on the Armenian language by foreign scholars.
Almost all Armenian poets have words dedicated to the Armenian language. Nalbandian has managed to put together the most interesting poems and prose that talk about the glory of the language and its beauty.
The book is very useful to the teacher, student and to everyone who is involved in teaching or reading literature and for those who appreciate our mother tongue. Every Armenian can take a copy of the book as it could be used easily in all times of the day and in all settings. It can be a bedside companion, a resource on the office desk, etc.
Nalbandian is very experienced in choosing topics of interest to the Armenian readers. He knows that a reader has to feel comfortable and has to understand that the collection is useful and will enrich his/her knowledge and aesthetic understanding.
Nalbandian was in Yereven in April 2012. He was accepted as a new member of the Armenian Writers' Union.
Such books are published with great financial sacrifices. We congratulate Nalbandian for not missing the 500th anniversary occasion of the first Armenian published book. He has chosen to walk on the path of our great authors and publishers, who wanted to enlighten the population through their works.
