Armenian capital becomes flydubai's 25th destination

FlydubaiTwice-weekly service will increase to three a week from 15 December 2010

Dubai: Flydubai's inaugural flight to the Armenian capital Yerevan touched down on Monday afternoon, making it the 25th route for Dubai's first low-cost airline.

The picturesque city is set to the spectacular backdrop of Mount Ararat, and is full of history and culture as well as a modern streak that is flourishing with the influx of international and major Armenian business.

As flydubai's 25th route, Yerevan marks another milestone in the growth of the airline, and a thriving and intriguing city such as Armenia's capital is a fitting destination for this, reinforcing the values and aims of flydubai.

Flydubai CEO Gaith Al Gaith said: “Yerevan is another fascinating destination that has been added to the flydubai route network; it's a route that once again underlines flydubai's expansion, offering passengers somewhere new to visit and to explore.

“This is what flydubai is about. By offering a diverse choice of destinations, we encourage people to travel more often, to a wider range of places.

“Destinations like Yerevan offer both leisure and business opportunities that don't always immediately spring to mind, but with flydubai services we aim to help people discover these,” he said.

Flights to Yerevan started on November 21 with the service operating two times a week, going to three a week from December 15.

Flight FZ715 departs Dubai at 10.10am and arrives in the Armenian capital at 1.35pm local time.

The return service FZ716 leaves Yerevan at 2.20pm and touches down in Dubai at 5.25pm local time.

Prices from Dubai to Yere-van start at Dh590 and a one way flight from Yerevan begins at $190 (Dh697).

  1. Congratulations and thank you (especially The Ambassador and FlyDubai) to all who made this deal possible! It?s a great benefit not only to the consumers but to Armenia, in that the monopoly which Armavia fiercely tried to retain and charge extortionate prices for a relatively short route has been broken.

Finally, we have a decent airline flying to Yerevan from Dubai! Look forward to my first trip with FlyDubai to Yerevan!!

    Thank You!

  2. Thanks to flydubai for this chance, the airplane is great and the one of the passengers who fly in 21 of November 2010 is me and my daughter, thanks u again!
