Commemoration of the 17th Independence Anniversary of the Republic of Armenia

Will take place on Monday, 22nd September 2008 at 7:00 p.m., at the Pierre Keusseyan community hall.
H. E. Vahagn Melikian, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the U.A.E. will be the day?s speaker.
All community members are invited to participate.
We would like to bring to your attention that road works are in progress in Sharjah and therefore you should plan your journey to this event in advance.

Armenian Robots Open Championship (ArmRobotics), Armenia 2008
This is a Pan-Armenian youth competition, where the teams will compete in robot projects prepared by themselves.
The competition consist of one or more stages. The number of participants is limited. Only students can be enrolled.
The participants will have the task of preparing a self ? controlled device that can follow and move in the direction of black lines drawn on a white zone.
Aim: The aim of the competition is to unite Armanian young scientists (in homeland and Diaspora) and involve them in scientific team work, stimulate the youth in developing new technologies and introducing them into Armenian scientific and industrial centers.
The team which will project and prepare a robot that handles the assigned task in minimum time and with fewest mistakes will be the winner.
The last phase of this competition will take place in Yerevan on 22 December 2008
