Foreign Minister Nalbandian in KolkataOn 12th November 2010, the Foreign Minister of Republic of Armenia Edward Nalbandyan who was on an official visit in India visited the Armenian College and Philanthropic Academy in Kolkata to meet with the teachers, students, community members and officials.


The programme commenced in the auditorium of ACPA where the students sang and recited. Furthermore, Very Rev. Father Khoren Hovhannisyan, Pastor of the Armenians in India and the Manager of ACPA welcomed his Excellency and said, ?With your inspiring presence, we feel the Biblical Mount Ararat?s haughty and majestic look. With your inspiring presence, we hear the perpetual ringing of the bells of Holy Etchmiadzin. With your inspiring presence, we feel the cool breeze of the four-vertex Aragats and Sevan?s azure and refreshing billows?.


In conclusion, Father Khoren invited the Minister to the stage who then spoke about the bilateral relationship of Armenia and India and his various official meetings. He later answered a number of questions raised by the students of ACPA mostly concerning the issues of Nagorno Karabakh and the Armenia-Turkey relationship. Mr. Nalbandyan showed his appreciation to the well informed students and wished them success in their academics.


Lastly, Father Khoren accompanied by the Chairman Mr. Michael Dutt, Wardens Mrs. Susan Reuben and Mr. Sunil Sobti of the church committee escorted Mr. and Mrs. Nalbandyan to the Armenian Holy Church of Nazareth where the Minister and his entourage communicated with the rich and spiritually overwhelming glorious past of the 300 years old Church.
