Liturgy and ceremony for peace in the Armenian Church in Addis-Ababa

On Sunday, 24th of December 2006, a liturgy and special ceremony for peace took place at the Saint George (Kevork) Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church in Addis-Ababa, with the presence of Bishops and priests from the Ethiopian Orthodox, Greek Orthodox, Indian Orthodox and Ethiopian Evangelical churches.

The ceremony was held by Rev. Fr. Myron Sarkissian, Pastor of the Armenian Church Pastorate of Ethiopia. During his preach Father Myron talked about chaos, wars and confusion in the world and the need for peace, which Christ brought with His birth.

Father Myron urged to enhance peace and harmony between the churches in Ethiopia and asked the people to turn to the Bible and read God?s faithful word and rest assured in His constant protection. He ended his sermon by conveying the wishes and greetings of love, peace and joy of Christmas from?His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of all Armenians and His Eminence Bishop Ashot Mnatzakanian, the Prelate of the Armenian Diocese in Egypt and all Africa to all the worshippers.
