These eight volumes are a rare source of original photography throughout Iraq prior to the wars. They include also series of Armenian rare photos, including photographs of the Armenian Church in Baghdad.
During the recent wars in Iraq (the Iran-Iraq war, the Gulf War and the US invasion of Iraq), the ongoing violence and the displacement of the population, much of the visible records in the Iraqi society has been perished, thus the current volumes provide a valuable source of information. They preserve and present a unique view for future reference.
