On 8th December 2012, the Armenian Cultural Union of Barcelona presented a lovely artistic evening to both the Armenian and foreign communities. The event was titled “Sons of Ararat” and it was the result of one year of hard work.
The school, which functions under the patronage of the union, the “Hayortik” dance troupe and the children of the Armenian folk instruments school, presented their work of one year to the public.
The evening started with the Catalonian and Armenian Republic national anthems. The opening speech was made by the union president, Mr. Sevata Sahakyan, who welcomed everyone and thanked all those who have taken part in the event and encouraged the union's activities with their presence.
Upon entering the hall, one would see drawings and essays prepared by the school students.
The audience enjoyed the students' dances, songs, recitations and musical performances. The union's general work was also displayed to the audience through a special video clip.
The evening came to an end with the song “Let's Walk Together”. The audience thanked the union members and all the participants.
About the Armenian Cultural Union of Barcelona
The roots of the union go back to 2004. In November 2006, the union was officially registered in the supreme body of Catalonia, the autonomous province of Spain. The main goals of the union are preserving and spreading the Armenian national roots and values, teaching the children the Armenian language and history, bringing the Armenian community together and the integration of the Armenian society. The one-day Armenian school was founded in 2006. The “Hayortik” Armenian folk dance troupe has been active since 2008. It includes groups of both young and junior dancers. As for the Armenian folk instruments school, it has been active since 2009. Since 2010, special Spanish classes have also been scheduled for the community members.

Պարսելոնայի Հայկական մշակութային միութիւնը 8 Դեկտեմբեր 2012-ին գեղարուեստական յայտագիրով մը իր տարեկան աշխատանքը ներկայացուց քաղաքի հայ եւ օտար հանրութեան: Ձեռնարկին խորագիրն էր` ?Արարատի որդիները?:
Միութեան հովանաւորութեամբ գործող միօրեայ դպրոցը, ?Հայորդիք? պարի համոյթը եւ Հայկական Ժողովրդական երաժշտական գործիքներու դպրոցի սաները իրենց մէկ տարուայ աշխատանքը ներկայացուցին բոլորին:
Հանդիսութեան սկսաւ Քաթալոնիայի եւ Հայաստանի Հանրապետութեան քայլերգներով, իսկ բացման խօսքը կատարեց միութեան նախագահ պրն. Սեւատա Սահակեան, որ բարի գալուստով ողջունեց բոլորին ու շնորհակալութիւն յայտնեց, որ իրենց մասնակցութեամբ եկած են քաջալերելու միութեան աշխատանքները՝ նեցուկ կանգնելով տարբեր ծրագիրներու:
Սրահի մուտքին զետեղուած էին միօրեայ դպրոցի աշակերտներու նկարչական աշխատանքներն ու շարադրութիւնները:
Գեղարուեստական յայտագրին մաս կը կազմէին պարային տարբեր ներկայացումներ, երգեր ու արտասանութիւններ եւ երաժշտական տարբեր կտորներ:
Միութեան ընդնահուր աշխատանքը յատուկ տեսերիզներով կը ցուցադրուէին բոլոր ներկաներուն:
Ձեռնարկը վերջ գտաւ ?Քայլենք միասին? երգով: Ներկաները շնորհակալութիւն յայտնեցին բոլոր մասնակիցներուն ու միութեան անդամներուն:
Պարսելոնայի Հայկական մշակութային միութեան (ՊՀՄՄ) արմատները կու գան դեռ 2004 թուականէն։ 2006 թուականի նոյեմբերին միութիւնը Քաթալոնիայի Ինքնավար Մարզի Գերագոյն մարմնի մէջ պաշտօնական գրանցում ստացաւ: Միութեան հիմնական նպատակներն են՝ ազգային արմատներու եւ արժէքներու պահպանումն ու տարածումը, հայ մանուկներուն հայոց լեզու եւ պատմութիւն ուսուցանումը, հայ համայնքի համախմբումը եւ հայ հասարակության ինտեգրացումը:
Հայկական միօրեայ դպրոցը հիմնուած է 2006 թուականին: ?Հայորդիք? Հայկական ժողովրդական Պարերի Համոյթը կը գործէ 2008 թուականէն։ Համոյթը ունի երիտասարդներու եւ կրտսերներու խումբեր: 2009 թուականէն կը գործէ Հայկական ժողովրդական երաժշտական գործիքներու դպրոցը: Համայնքի անդամներու համար սպաներէնի յատուկ դասաժամեր կը կազմակերպուին 2010 թուականէն։
