On Friday, 12 February 2010, The Hay Tad Committee of the UAE organized a round table discussion on the premises of the Armenian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, touching upon repatriation, the latest developments in Armenian – Turkish relations and organizational issues. About 95 people attended the event, which soon turned into a heated debate that lasted four hours. Moderator Hourig Mayisian welcomed the guests and stressed the importance of repatriation from the perspective of Hay Tad. Referring to the efforts taken by the Armenian government in this respect recently, particularly the study of the Ministry of Diaspora on a repatriation scheme, she pointed out to the timeliness of the issue both for Armenia and the Diaspora. Inviting the Ambassador to make his comments on the topics, she encouraged the attendants to actively participate in the debate.

Greetings from Bahrain; Let me first start out by introducing myself. My name is Barry Peters and I'm an American living in Bahrain. I've been here for a few years and recently met and have subsequently become engaged to a beautiful woman named Liana from Yerevan during my most recent trip to Armenia during the Christmas / New Year holidays. We hope to be married some time in 2010, but the paperwork will probably be the major roadblock to achieving this milestone. The reason I'm writing you is because I found your name on the UAE Armenian website and wanted to touch base to find out if you might know of any Armenians living in Bahrain. Liana arrived here to the island last week and I'd like to begin the acclimation process by also providing her links to some of her countrymen / women, as we are planning to live here for several years. If you know of any Armenians in Bahrain, I'd really appreciate any info. you can provide. Our contact info. is below should you care to return call / email. Thanks and we hope to hear from you soon. Rgds. Barry Peters |
