“The independence of Armenia in the past and present…”
On the occasion of the Independence of Armenia, the Armenian Cultural Union of Barcelona organized a lecture-discussion on 22 September 2012 in the “Armenian House”.
The event was attended by H.E. Juan Sanmartin Jil, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia in Catalonia and His Grace Archimandrite Sasun Zmrukhtyan, Vicar of the Patriarchal delegate to Spain, and about 50 young people, Armenians and Spanish youth.
Sevata Sahakyan, President of the Armenian Cultural Union, welcomed the attendants and congratulated them on this glorious occasion.
Datev Sulian, member of the Union, gave a presentation on the Armenian historical dynasties, kingdoms and republics, with the aid of maps, photos, charts and list of events. He particularly focused on the last years of the Soviet Armenia, which witnessed the transition to the free republic and was full of events including the Artsakh (Karabakh) conflict and other details.
The Honorary Consul and the Archimandrite Sasun conveyed their messages during the event.
The event was concluded with a documentary display and hospitality of Armenian traditional sweets and pastries.

ՀՀ Անկախութիւնը Պարսելոնայի Մէջ
Հայաստանի Անկախութիւնը. Անցեալն ու Ներկան?
Հայաստանի Հանրապետութեան Անկախութեան տօնին առիթով` կազմակերպութեամբ Պարսելոնայի Հայկական մշակութային միութեան` Սեպտեմբեր 22-ին տեղի ունեցած է դասախօսութիւն-զրոյց մը Պարսելոնայի մէջ գործող վերոյիշեալ միութեան ?Հայ Տուն?-ի մէջ:
Ձեռնարկին ներկայ գտնուած են Գաթալոնիայի Հայաստանի Հանրապետութեան Պատուոյ հիւպատոս Խուան Սանմարթին Խիլ, Սպանիոյ Հայրապետական պատուիրակի փոխանորդ Սասուն վարդապետ Զմրուխտեան եւ հայ ու սպանացի 50 երիտասարդ:
Հանդիսութեան բացումը կատարած է միութեան նախագահ Սեվատա Սահակեան, որ իր խօսքին մէջ շնորհաւորած ու շնորհակալութիւն յայտնած է բոլոր ներկաներուն:
Այնուհետեւ, միութեան անդամներէն Տաթեւ Սուլեան` համակարգիչի միջոցով ներկայացուցած է Հայկական թագաւորութիւններու ու հանրապետութիւններու մասին քարտէզներ, նկարներ, կարեւոր դէպքեր եւ թիւեր: Իր ելոյթով ներկաներուն անցեալէն ներկայ հասցնելով մանրամասնօրէն ներկայացուց Խորհրդային Հայաստանի վերջին տարիները, անկախութեան ժամանակագրութիւն, Արցախեան խնդիրն ու այլ դէպքերը:
Իրենց խօսքը փոխանցեցին նաեւ պրն. Խուան Խոսէ Սանմարթին Խիլն ու Սասուն վարդապետը:
Ձեռնարկի աւարտին տեղի ունեցաւ վաւերագրական տեսաերիզի ցուցադրութիւն եւ հայկական քաղցրեղէններով հիւրասիրութիւն:
