Nazeni Hovhannisyan: I always believe, I always wonder, but I never stay idle

I consider myself lucky. The luck factor is essential, because there are thousands of people who are both hard working and talented, yet they stay on the roadside not finding their right place. They may lack a certain trait though.

When I was a student at the institute, my teacher's first remark was that a hard working man would always find his place. “A polished stone won't remain on the ground” but in this case, the point is, when do you consider yourself polished? And when does your desire to be perfect go away?

People often forget where they came from and have no idea where they are heading. I'm talking about the blinding trait of glory and success, which is able to veil that very success.

– At what price does success come?

It comes at your own expense. When you are successful and are the centre of the public attention (not as a famous person, but as a successful one) your freedom gets restricted. Whether you are an architect or a chemist, if you're successful then you're the centre of attention, consequently you should take the public opinion into consideration. In this respect, the sacrifice is quite big. 

– How does our society here perceive the artist's freedom?

Unfortunately, or fortunately, the society dictates how you should be. I'm not saying that I'm being consumed in all this, but I have to conform to certain patterns. Otherwise you won't make it. However, my father has raised his three daughters in such a way, so they'd become conscious women, who have freedom of thought and speech and who are aware of the value of their personal choices.

– What could be disappointing in general?

If you have faith, you shouldn't be disappointed. Because after disappointment comes hopelessness, which destroys the natural wish to live and progress. One can be disappointed at something, from which he/she had great expectations. When you have expectations you do not notice that you undertake the responsibility for assessing the situation, while in fact, you can't. It's like waking up believing that it's going to be a sunny day, but what if it rains? Although there are ways and “certain outfits” to deal with that too.

– What are you disappointed at?

I'm very disappointed at my profession as an actress. It's a very limited field especially when you have a message to deliver. In this case too, one would face many restrictions.

– Is there a formula for being bold and spirited?

Yes there is. But one should first have the base for it, which has nothing to do with finance. The formula is all about education and enlightenment. Let me say that many museum guards have the right to be more daring than the guides themselves.

– What is love?

Love is when you feel that you are irreplaceable. When you want to dedicate yourself to him, when you feel he's the only one and that he's irreplaceable too. It's when you want to be his slave, his king, his goddess and hid maid. When you can't picture life without him, even for a minute.

– What do you personally consider impossible?

It's impossible for me to be lazy, not to believe and not to wonder (I always believe, I always wonder, but I never laze).  A disbeliever is doomed. When you stop believing, wondering and start to get lazy, then you are over.
Nevertheless, “impossible” is not such a good word, we shouldn't use it often, because there's nothing impossible, except the return of those who have departed.

?Միշտ հավատում եմ, զարմանում ու երբեք չեմ ալարում?

?Ավելի շատ ինձ հաջողակ եմ համարում. շատ կարևոր է հաջողակ լինելու գործոնը, որովհետև հազարավոր աշխատասեր ու տաղանդավոր մարդիկ գոյություն ունեն, ովքեր մնում են ճամփեզրին` էդպես էլ իրենց տեղը չգտնելով: Չնայած նրանց մոտ էլ ուրեմն ինչ-որ գծի, ?խազի? պակաս լինում է:

Երբ ինստիտուտում էի, ուսուցչիս առաջին ուղղորդումն այն էր, որ աշխատող մարդն իր տեղը կգտնի. ?տաշած քարը գետնին չի մնա?: Սակայն այս պարագայում էլ ողջ հարցն այն է, թե որ պահին ես քեզ արդեն ?տաշած? համարում և երբ է ինքնակատարելացման ցանկությունդ դադարում: Հաճախ մարդիկ մոռանում են` որտեղից են եկել և կուրանում են` թե ուր են գնալու: Խոսքը փառքի ու հաջողության կուրացնող հատկության մասին է, ինչն ի զորու է շղարշել հենց հաջողությունը??

– Հաջողությունն ի՞նչ գին ունի:

Ինքնազոհաբերման գին? Երբ մարդ դառնում է հաջողակ ու հայտնվում հասարակության ուշադրության կենտրոնում (ոչ թե ճանաչված անհատը, այլ ուղղակի հաջողակ անձը), սկսում է սահմանափակել իր ազատությունները.  լինի ճարտարապետ, թե քիմիկոս` միայն հաջողակներն են ուշադրության կենտրոնում: Եթե սովորական քաղաքացին իրեն կարող է թույլ տալ ցանկացած արարք, ապա արդեն որոշակի ճանաչում ունեցողները պարտադիր հաշվի պետք է նստեն հասարակության կարծիքի հետ. այս առումով զոհաբերությունը մեծ է:

– Մեզանում հասարակությունն ինչպե՞ս է ընկալում արվեստագետի ազատությունը:

Ցավոք սրտի, թե բարեբախտաբար` մեր հասարակությունը թելադրում է` ինչպիսին լինել: Ես չեմ ասում, որ կուլ եմ գնում, սակայն ստիպված եմ որոշակի կաղապարներ կրել: Այլ կերպ չես կարող. դա հասարակական պահանջ է: Սակայն ընտանիքում հայրս երեք դուստրերին էլ այնպես է դաստիարակել, որ ձևավորվեն ազատ միտք ու խոսք ունեցող և անձնական ընտրության իրավունքի արժեքը գիտակցող կանայք:

– Ինչի՞ց կարելի է հիասթափվել:

Եթե ունի ճշմարիտ հավատք, մարդը չպիտի հիասթափվի? Հիասթափությունը հանգեցնում է հուսահատության, իսկ դա ոչնչացնում է ապրելու և զարգանալու բնական ցանկությունը: Հիասթափվում ես երևույթից, որից ունես մեծ սպասելիքներ: Երբ ունես մեծ սպասելիքներ, չես էլ նկատում, որ պատասխանատվություն ես ստանձնում` գնահատելու իրավիճակը: Մինչդեռ իրականում չես կարող գնահատել իրավիճակը: Դա նույնն է, ինչ արթնանաս համոզմամբ, որ օրն արևոտ է լինելու. իսկ եթե անձրև լինի՞? Թեև դրա հետ հաշտվելու տարբերակ` ?համապատասխան հագուստ? էլ կա:

– Ինչի՞ց եք հիասթափված:

Խիստ հիասթափված եմ իմ մասնագիտությունից` դերասանի արվեստից: Մեր այդ դաշտը բավական սահմանափակ է, մինչդեռ ունես ասելիք: Այս պարագայում ևս հանդիպում ես կաղապարների:

– Կա՞ համարձակ լինելու բանաձև:

Կա?: Պետք է դրա համար նախ հիմք ունենալ (դա ֆինանսականի հետ բացարձակապես կապ չունի): Այդ բանաձևը կրթվածությունն է: Ասեմ, որ թանգարանների շատ պահակներ իրավունք ունեն գիդերից էլ ավելի համարձակ լինել:

– Ի՞նչ է սերը:

Երբ քեզ զգում ես այն անկրկնելին? Երբ ուզում ես նվիրվել նրան, ով քեզ համար միակն է ու դարձյալ անկրկնելի? Եվ ուզում ես լինել նրա ստրուկը, թագավորը, աստվածուհին, աղախինը? Երբ մի րոպե անգամ չես պատկերացնում կյանքն առանց նրա:

– Ձեզ համար ի՞նչն է անհնարին:

Անհնարին է ալարելը, չհավատալն ու չզարմանալը (միշտ հավատում եմ, զարմանում ու երբեք չեմ ալարում): Անհավատ մարդը դատապարտված է: Հենց դադարեմ հավատալ, զարմանալ և սկսեմ ալարել` ուրեմն ես վերջացած եմ? Իսկ առհասարակ` (ասեմ, որ ?անհնարին?-ն այդքան էլ լավ բառ չէ) մարդկային կորստի վերադարձելիությունից բացի` անհնարին այլ բան չկա:
