Evangelical news from Cyprus

The Armenian Evangelical Church service was held on Saturday December 23, 2006, at 5:00pm in the Greek Evangelical Church, Nicosia, Cyprus. The guest speaker was Mihran Jizmejian.


 


Jizmejian is a prominent educator in the Armenian Evangelical Church circles and the Armenian community with long years of service both in the Middle East and North America. He has been an active member and preacher of the Armenian Evangelical Church in Nicosia when he used to teach in the Melkonian educational institute in the 1960s. He presently lives in Toronto, Canada, and is on the board of the Armenian Missionary Association of Canada and the Armenian Evangelical Church of Toronto.


 


Jizmejian was recently in Yerevan, Armenia, where he lectured for five weeks in the Armenian Evangelical seminary. He also led training seminars for youth group leaders and preached in the different Armenian Evangelical churches in Armenia.


 


The service was led by Hrayr Jebejian, followed by a short testimony by Ruth Nassanian. The Bible reading was done by Arda Jebejian and the prayer was offered by Luther Nassanian. A five-minute presentation was shown towards the end of the service, highlighting the work of the Armenian Missionary Association in Armenia.


 


During the reception that followed the service, members of the Church and the Armenian community in Cyprus had the opportunity to converse and get acquainted with the guest speaker.


 


Jizmejian had also a radio interview with the Armenian program in the national Cyprus radio.
