Next year the Big Maestro will be 70 years old

“We are born without our will; we live with a sense of bewilderment and die with nostalgia. What matters most is the traces we leave behind. As long as we live we should strive for progress and the creation of lasting values.” These are the principles that guided our beloved singer, artist of the Republic of Armenia Ruben Matevosyan throughout his life.
Matevosyan was born in 1942 in Yerevan. He passed a long course in musical education and career formation. After completing higher musical education in Sayat-Nova School he entered into the Armenian musical scene with steady steps. Music was in his heart right from the beginning. He was enchanted with the Armenian folk and popular music and remained faithful to this genre until today.
During his professional career the maestro visited many countries and participated in numerous musical events, receiving the highest praises. His voice has always made a strong emotional impact on the audience, through which they were related to Armenia and its musical heritage.
Matevosyan has a unique place in the family of Armenian performers. Nowadays, he is much involved in transferring his great experience and knowledge to the new generation. Many of the present day Armenian folk and popular music performers have been his students. They all have words of praise for their beloved teacher (see duet with Arman Hovhannisyan in the Youtube link below).
Despite his advanced age, the “Big Maestro” has no problem in performing live. This shows mastery of profession and possession of strong vocal capabilities. He does not hesitate to appear in regular musical events, charming the audience with his gifted sweet voice and his extremely friendly personality.

Ruben Matevosyan has one grandchild who carries his name. The attentive grandfather expresses his expectation that one day little Ruben might continue his grandfather's difficult yet glorious path.

?Ծնվում ենք ակամա, ապրում ենք զարմացած, մեռնում ենք կարոտով?: Եվ իրավամբ, այդպես է: Սակայն ինչ հետք ենք թողնում մեզնից հետո,այ սա է կարևոր: Եվ քանի ապրում ենք, պետք է արարենք, ձգտենք առաջ գնալ և մնայուն արժեքներ ստեղծել: Հենց այս սկզբունքով է ողջ կյանքում առաջնորդվել սիրված երգիչ, ՀՀ ժողովրդական արտիստ Ռուբեն Մաթևոսյանը:
Ծնվել է 1942 թվականին, Երևանում: Երաժշտական երկար ճանապարհ է անցել տաղանդաշատ երգիչը: Սայաթ-Նովայի անվան դպրոցում բարձրագույն երաժշտական կրթությունից հետո էլ ավելի արհեստավարժ կերպով սկսել է զբաղվել երգ-երաժշտությամբ: Սակայն երգը դեռ վաղուց էր ապրում Ռուբենի սրտում: Հայկական ժողովրդական երգը գրավել էր նրան և հենց այս էր պատճառը, որ տարիներ շարունակ երգիչը պրոպագանդում էր հենց այս երաժշտական ուղղությունը` անդավաճան մնալով ազգային ակունքներին:
Ողջ երաժշտական կյանքի ընթացքում մաեստրոն բազում շրջագայություններ է ունեցել աշխարհի տարբեր երկրներում. համերգներով հանդես է եկել և միշտ արժանացել բարձր գնահատանքի: Ռուբենի քաղցրահնչյուն ձայնը մշտապես կարողացել է հուզել հանդիսատեսին և օգնել լավ ճանաչել սեփական ազգի ներաշխարհն ու հույզերը:
Իսկ ներկայումս կայացած և վաղուց արդեն հայ բեմում իր ուրույն տեղը զբաղեցրած երգիչն իր փորձն ու գիտելիքների հսկայածավալ պաշարը փոխանցում է մատաղ սերնդին, կրթում և երաժշտական դաստիարակություն տալիս նրանց: Այսօր երիտասարդ երգիչներից շատերը` էստրադային կամ ժողովրդական ժանրում յուրահատուկ ձայնով առանձնացող, եղել են մաեստրոյի աշակերտները և միշտ գոհունակության խոսքեր են ուղղում իրենց ուսուցչին: Մեծն մաեստրոն նույնիսկ հիմա` գտնվելով պատկառելի տարիքում, խնդիր չունի երգերի կենդանի կատարման հարցում և անշուշտ, սա խոսում է արհեստավարժության և գործին գիտակ լինելու մասին: Նա մինչ այժմ մասնակցում է ժողովրդական համերգներին և ամեն անգամ հիացնում աստվածատուր ձայնով և չափազանց բարի էությամբ:
Նրա կատարած երգերից են ?Հայաստան?, ?Թամամ աշխարհ?, ?Արեգակին պետք է հեռվից նայել?, ?Բարի արագիլ?, ?Երազ իմ երկիր Հայաստան?, ?Հորովել?, ?Սիրո ամառ?, ?Իմ մայրիկ?, ?Չքնաղ երազ?, ?Սիրուս կսպասեմ? և ժողովրդական ու գուսանական բազմաթիվ այլ երգեր:
Ռուբեն Մաթևոսյանն ունի մեկ թոռնիկ` ճիշտ իր անուն-ազգանունով, և հոգատար պապիկն անթաքույց խանդավառությամբ երազում է, որ փոքրիկ Ռուբենը հետագայում շարունակի իր պապի դժվարին, բայց և փառավոր ճանապարհը:
?Ազատ-Հայ? կայքի անունից ամուր առողջություն և անսպառ եռանդ մաղթենք մաեստրո Ռուբեն Մաթևոսյանին և թող որ նրա անսպառ ձայնը դեռ երկար ժամանակ մեզ ջերմացնի ու ազգային ակունքներին մոտ պահի:
