Antranig Ohannesian exhibits in Yerevan

Antranig OhannesianThe opening ceremony of Iraqi-Armenian painter Antranig Ohannesian?s personal exhibition was held under the initiative of the Ministry of Diaspora


On 23 September 2010, Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan took part in the opening ceremony of Iraqi-Armenian painter Antranig Ohannesian?s personal exhibition at the Yerevan History Museum.


Welcoming the painter, Minister Hakobyan stated that Armenians not only live, but create under difficult conditions in Iraq.  ?That is shown through the paintings that express Antranig Ohannesian?s brilliant thoughts and use of colors. On the one hand, the painter touches upon the theme of the Armenian Genocide and on the other hand, he presents the Armenian people?s spirit and strive for freedom,? said Mrs. Hakobyan.


The Minister wished the Iraqi-Armenian community strength to confront the obstacles and stated that the Ministry of Diaspora is ready to support the community in solving issues facing Iraqi-Armenians.


The Minister expressed gratitude to Mayor of Yerevan Gagik Beglaryan for providing the hall of the museum for the opening of the exhibition and placed importance on the municipality?s willingness to organize such exhibitions.


Chairman of the Iraqi Armenian National Council Barouyr Hagopian expressed words of gratitude to the Ministry of Diaspora and stated that such events help raise the spirit of the Armenian nation and bring Armenia and the Diaspora closer.


Attending the exhibition and expressing appreciation were artists of the Pan-Armenian Forum of Artists organized by the Ministry of Diaspora and participants of the reunion event of Diaspora Armenian graduates of Armenian universities.
