Independence Day of Armenia celebrated in Kuwait

For the first time in Kuwait the Independence Day of Armenia was celebrated after the opening of the Embassy earlier this year.


On 23 September 2010 in Marina Hotel on the seaside, the 19th anniversary of the independence of Armenia was celebrated with glory. This was the first public and official event organized by the newly opened Embassy.


For two hours the attendants enjoyed the Armenian atmosphere in an occasion that instills pride inside every Armenian. Many government officials, Ambassadors, Consuls, public figures attended the event, besides the big number of Armenians who live in Kuwait, headed by Archbishop Goriun Babian, the Catholicosal Vicar of Kuwait and the Arabian Gulf countries.


The event started at 7pm with the anthems of Kuwait and Armenia.


The host was Ambassador Fadey Charchoghlyan who cut the celebration cake together with the representative of the Kuwait Foreign Ministry.
 
Ambassador Charchoglyan referred to the Armenian-Kuwaiti relations and the stages of development up to the moment of the opening of the Embassy and the visit to Armenia of Kuwaiti officials.


He thanked the Kuwaiti authorities who helped in the process of establishing the Embassy and provided every kind of facilities. He wished further development of the relations between the two sides with the signing of agreements.
