During May 2007 the project “Karot” (Garod): Retrospective of the Armenian Cinema will take place in Berlin.?

The project is being managed and directed by the Art Combat Transnational Association in cooperation with several institutions from Germany and Armenia.?

During this month a selection of 24 Armenian films (movie films, short films and documantary films) from Armenia as well as from the Diaspora will be presented to the public at the Cinema Arsenal in Berlin.?

The aim of the project is to enable an approach to the Armenian past and present, illuminating the relationship to the European / German (cultural) history.

Four panel discussions will be accompanying the project at the same place.?
?
The discussions will be dealing with:
– The history of the Armenian cinematography and the traces of the genocide
– The Armenian genocide and the German joint responsibility
– The genocide and its traces of violence up to and into the present
– Film and exile and the melancholy of the cinematographic view
– The history of the Armenian cinematography and the traces of the genocide
