Levon Muradyan: The word THEATRE is inscribed on my forehead

Levon Muradyan graduated from the “Gabriel Sundukyan State Academic Theatre” of Yerevan and later from the Fine Arts institute, acting department. He worked in the G. Sundukyan and H. Ghaplanyan theatres. Actor Mher Mkrtchyan is his idol.

Some of the remarkable roles he has played in the Dramatic Theatre are: Baghtasar Aghpar, The Yezidi in “Your Last Haven”, the character of the self-taught poet in “The Endless Return”, the role of Paylag in “Love and Laughter”?

His first steps on the stage were in the play “Attendees and Absentees.”

“I have also acted in The Pleasure of being Armenian, which was another great play, but we were only able to perform it twice before the organizers stopped it. I hope that one day we will be able to see it on the stage again”.

Despite the numerous roles he has played in the theatre, Mr. Muratyan became widely popular when he started giving humorous solo concerts for Armenians in Armenia and abroad.

– Mr. Muratyan, let's talk about the theatre and your solo performances, shall we?

I was Vardan Ajemyan's last studio actor. I have learned so much from him as an actor as well as from other great stage actors like Mher Mkrtchyan, Khoren Abrahamyan, Sos Sargsyan, Metaxia Simonyan, to name a few. There have been many roles in the theatre of course, but as an actor of the bandstand genre, when I appeared in front of the audience with my humorous show-program, I achieved popularity in a short period of time. It was a dream coming true, because I've always dreamed of making people happy, making them laugh and giving them positive energy.

– Is it difficult to make people laugh?

Of course, especially that our audience is pretty strict and does not laugh at any given thing. I remember years ago when there was no electricity and the lights were on only for 20 minutes, people used to scream and celebrate, but now, all they need to be happy is a few things. They need workplaces, so that they could live decently and be able to laugh carelessly and full-heartedly. When people laugh, they ignore a lot of things and stop noticing them. 

– Presently you're being filmed in a series named In the City and are playing the role of a wealthy businessman -Vram Arevshatyan. What is your character's message?

Actually, I don't understand this kind of character. You can't say that he is a bad person, but he's not a good person either. He's more of a chameleon, he acts differently in different situations. I believe that such characters should appear on the screen so that many people would recognize themselves through them. Unfortunately, there are a lot of Arevshatyans around us. It's true that he's dedicated to his family, but he treats his employees so badly; he is prudent and he only thinks about his own interests. But despite all of this, he's sometimes a very adorable person. I don't think people would like to imitate him, because we're trying to stress out that this is not a good type, hence, no one would like to be like him. The only positive aspect in him is the dedication he has for his family.

– In the series, you usually play with young and inexperienced actors. Isn't this a bit difficult?

Finally we have a serial now on TV, in which 99% of the actors are professionals, who have had the needed education, the majority of whom work in theatres, which means that there are no actors who are here by chance. So no, it's not difficult for me, it?s rather pleasant to work with so many talented young actors. 

– And do you wish to go back to the theatre again?

Of course, the word THEATRE is inscribed on my forehead anyway. I'm positive that, one day I will be on the stage again, because I still have a lot to say. I hope this does not sound snobbish, but I am able to play any given role, ranging from the dramatic to the comedy roles. 

– Is there a role that you are still waiting for?

Yes, Cyrano De Bergerac. That's a dreamlike role for me.

– Let's talk about your own family. Do your children wish to become actors like their father?

I have an amazing wife and two amazing kids. My wife is my first audience and critic. I fell in love with my wife because of her laughter. Every time I have a new project, she's the first one to learn about it. If my wife smiles while reading the scenario, then I'm sure the audience will burst in laughter in the theatre hall.

I thank God for my amazing wife and kids. I still don't know what direction my kids are going to head to. Will they choose the same path that I have? I'm not sure; one thing I'm sure of though, is that at least one of them, either my son or my daughter, will end up on the stage one day.

Կրթությունը` Գ. Սունդուկյանի անվան ազգային ակադեմիական թատրոնի ստուդիայի, ապա` Գեղարվեստաթատերական ինստիտուտի դերասանական բաժին:

Աշխատել է Գ. Սունդուկյանի եւ Հ. Ղափլանյանի անվան թատրոններում: Իր կուռքն է համարում Մհեր Մկրտչյանին:

Դրամատիկական թատրոնում խաղացած նշանակալի դերերից են Պաղտասար ախպար, եզդու կերպար ?Քո վերջին հանգրվանը?, ինքնուս բանաստեղծի կերպար ?Անվերջ վերադարձ?, Փայլակ ?Սեր եւ ծիծաղ? ներկայացումներում:

Մուտքը թատրոն եղել է ?Ներկաներ եւ բացականեր? ներկայացումով:

?Խաղացել եմ նաեւ ?Հայ լինելու հաճույքը? կոչվող ներկայացման մեջ, որը եւս հրաշալի ներկայացում էր, բայց ընդամենը 2 անգամ հասցրեցինք խաղալ, հետո կազմակերպիչները դադարեցրին այն: Հույս ունեմ, որ այդ գործը կրկին կլինի թատրոնի բեմում?,-հիշում է դերասանը:

Չնայած թատրոնում ունեցած բազում դերերին, Լեւոն Մուրադյանն ավելի լայն ճանաչում ձեռք բերեց, երբ մտավ էստրադա եւ հումորային մենահամերգներով ներկայացավ մեր հայրենակիցներին ինչպես Հայաստանում, այնպես էլ աշխարհի շատ երկրներում: 

-Պարոն Մուրադյան, խոսենք թատրոնի եւ անհատական ներկայացումների մասին:

Ես Վարդան Աճեմյանի վերջին ստուդիականն եմ եղել: Շատ բան եմ քաղել իրենից`որպես դերասան, ինչպես նաեւ թատրոնի այլ մեծերից. Մհեր Մկրտչյան, Խորեն Աբրահամյան, Սոս Սարգսյան, Մետաքսյա Սիմոնյան եւ այլք: Թատրոնում, իհարկե, շատ դերեր են եղել, բայց որպես էստրադային ժանրի դերասան, երբ հանդիսատեսին ներկայացա հումորային շոու-ծրագրերով, ճանաչումը եղավ շատ արագ: Եվ կարծես թե իրականացավ իմ երազանքը, որն է`մարդկանց ժպիտ, ծիծաղ պարգեւել, քանի որ փոքրուց սիրել եմ մարդկանց ուրախացնել, դրական լիցքեր փոխանցել: 

-Իսկ արդյոք դժվար չէ՞ մարդկանց ծիծաղեցնել:

Իհարկե, մանավանդ որ մեր հանդիսատեսը շատ խիստ է եւ ամեն ինչի վրա չէ, որ կծիծաղի: Ես հիշում եմ`տարիներ առաջ, երբ լույս չկար, հենց 20 րոպեով լույս էին տալիս, մարդիկ ցնծության մեջ էին լինում, ուռաներ էին լսվում, իսկ հիմա արդեն մեր ժողովրդին շատ քիչ բան է պետք երջանիկ լինելու համար. լինեն աշխատատեղեր, որպեսզի մարդիկ լավ ապրեն եւ կարողանան անհոգ, լիաթոք  ծիծաղել: Իսկ երբ մարդ ծիծաղում է, շատ բաներ անտեսում է, չի նկատում:

-Նկարահանվում եք ?Քաղաքում? սերիալում, հարուստ գործարար Վռամ Արեւշատյանի կերպարում: Ո՞րն է ձեր հերոսի ասելիքը:

Ճիշտն ասած, հերոսի այս տեսակին ես չեմ հասկանում: Չի կարելի ասել, որ նա վատ մարդ է, բայց լավն էլ չէ: Ավելի շատ քամելեոն տեսակն է, տարբեր իրավիճակներում տարբեր է: Կարծում եմ`նման կերպարներ պետք է էկրանին հայտնվեն, որ շատ մարդիկ հենց իրենց ճանաչեն նրանց մեջ: Մեր իրականության մեջ շատ Արեւշատյաններ կան, ցավոք: Ճիշտ է, նա նվիրված է ընտանիքին, բայց շատ վատ է վարվում իր աշխատողների հետ, հաշվենկատ է, միայն իր շահի մասին է մտածում: Բայց դրա հետ միասին տեղ-տեղ շատ համով մարդ է?: Չեմ կարծում, որ մարդիկ կփորձեն նմանվել այս կերպարին, քանի որ, ամեն դեպքում, ուզում ենք տեղ հասցնել, որ սա մարդու վատ տեսակն է, որին չարժե նմանվել: Թեեւ ընտանիքին իր ցուցաբերած վերաբերմունքի առումով իրեն կարելի է նմանվել:

-Սերիալում խաղում եք մեծամասամբ երիտասարդ ու անփորձ դերասանների հետ, դժվար չէ՞:

Այս սերիալն ինչով է ստացված եւ այսքան երկար ժամանակ եթերում է. վերջապես մեր եթերում հայտնվեց մի սերիալ, որտեղ դերասանական կազմի 99 տոկոսը պրոֆեսիոնալ դերասաններ են, համապատասխան կրթություն ստացած մարդիկ, որոնց մեծ մասն աշխատում է թատրոններում, այսինքն`պատահական մարդիկ չկան: Հետեւաբար`ինձ համար դժվար չէ, այլ հաճելի է, որ ունենք նման երիտասարդ, շնորհալի դերասաններ:

-Իսկ ցանկություն կա՞ կրկին թատրոն մտնելու:

Իհարկե, որովհետեւ, ամեն դեպքում իմ ճակատին թատրոն է գրված: Եվ վստահ եմ, որ կգա մի օր, երբ նորից կլինեմ թատրոնում, որովհետեւ ես դեռ ասելիք ունեմ: Թող ամպագորգոռ չհնչի, բայց ես կարող եմ խաղալ դրամատիկ դերերից մինչեւ կոմեդիաներ:

-Կա՞ մի դեր, որին դեռ սպասում եք:

Այո, Սիրանո Դը Բերժերակ: Ինձ համար դա հեքիաթային մի դեր է:

-Պարոն Մուրադյան, խոսենք նաեւ ձեր ընտանիքի մասին, եւ արդյոք ձեր զավակները չե՞ն ցանկանա հայրիկի ճանապարհով գնալ:

Ունեմ հրաշալի կին եւ 2 զավակ:  Ասեմ, որ կինս իմ համար առաջին հանդիսատեսն ու քննադատն է: Տիկնոջս  սիրահարվել եմ իր ծիծաղի համար: Յուրաքանչյուր նոր նախագիծ առաջինն իրեն եմ ցույց տալիս: Եթե կինս, լսելով սցենարը`փոքր-ինչ  ժպտում է, ապա վստահ եմ լինում, որ դահլիճում հանդիսատեսն ինքնամոռաց ծիծաղելու է: Աստծուց շնորհակալ եմ, որ ունեմ նման  կյանքի ընկեր եւ նման բալիկներ: Դեռ չգիտեմ, թե երեխաներս ինչ ուղի կընտրեն, կգնան իմ ճանապարհով, թե ոչ, բայց որ նրանցից գոնե մեկը`տղաս կամ աղջիկս հաստատ բեմի մարդ կլինի, դրանում վստահ եմ:
