Peter Jambazian, a.k.a. Peter Jam is a Lebanese musician, who has taken upon himself the mission of spreading peace and love through his art from the restless Middle East to all over the world.
Through his songs, Peter Jam also leads environmental, anti-drug campaigns, etc. He composes the lyrics and the melodies of his songs. He sings in three languages- Armenian, Arabic and mainly English (as an international language).
“Positive message through the Power of Music, Art and Speech” this is how Jambazian entitled his musical practice.
“In the 80s, Lebanon was still in war, and I went through that with my family. Since then, I have had these motives about becoming a peace activist. Peace is the most important thing. That's why I say that peace is my religion? I started to experiment with music when I was a school boy. I formed a band at school, where I was the guitar player. Later I also started to sing, performing mainly my own compositions”.
Last year, before his Europe tour, a reporter asked Peter:
“You often go to the United States, you have surely studied there, have you already gotten your diploma?”
“I have studied till the ninth grade and then I dropped out of school, but I never gave up education or knowledge”, the young musician answered.
At first, the reporter thought that this is one of Peter's humors, but then he was amazed at how anyone can attain this level of growth and possess such a broad outlook having studied so little.
“My main goal in life is to be happy and to share that happiness with people, be that my friends or my spectators or others. I also try to share their sadness; I feel this solicitude towards them all. I personally avoid being sad. The world is so wonderful, there's so much love out there; we also have a great deal of love to give to the world?”
Peter says that through his songs he shares everything he has in his heart and mind with his fans and when he sees that they are influences and inspired, he feels joyful because thus he would deliver his message “Positive message through the Power of Music, Art and Speech”.
“After my tour in Europe, I went to Istanbul, Turkey. I was planning on filming a part of the video clip of a song dedicated to peace in there. We filmed it next to Ataturk's statue and the big Turkish flag. Later, when I visited Armenia, during a live radio interview, the interviewer surprised me and asked “You have gone to Turkey and filmed a video clip there; you have forgotten about the Armenian Genocide?”. I answered that I would never forget the genocide. My forefathers were killed, that's why I was born in Lebanon. But we have to show the enemy that we are a peace-loving and an art loving nation and we want to live in peace more than they do”.
“I'm speaking of peace not as an Armenian but as a human being”, says Peter Jam. “I cannot stand the massacres happening in Rwanda or elsewhere, I can't even stand violations regarding animals, let alone the atrocities that my own nation had to go through. Nevertheless, I'm not filled with negativity, we have to take a minute and think. It's already the year 2012 and we cannot defend our rights through war and aggressiveness. There are many other ways to express our fair demands”.
Mr. Boogie and Sir Spottie are Peter's best friends, two dogs that often become a source of inspiration for the musician.
“Nature inspires me, events from famous musicians' lives inspire me, but mainly I'm inspired by people's attitudes. For me it is more important to create than to sing. The song transforms the creation to feelings and presents it in a more perceptible version”.
Peter's first CD was entitled “Vibration“. He already has material ready for the second album. He also composes music for movies. He composes with love and about love, and when he doesn't compose about love, then he is definitely composing about peace, although for Peter, peace and love are inseparable.
“My dream is to deliver my message to all over the world. This has been my dream for the past three years. Last year I was invited to Armenia and it seemed as if my dream started to come true..I hope this continues”, Peter says with optimism.
Peter says – addressing people who have initiated something in their lives ? “This life is like climbing a mountain. You have to love, love and love because it is so difficult and tiring. But when you have the will and the faith, then the goal is definitely surmountable. One has to be peaceful first and foremost with himself, because only then you can be in peace with your surroundings and spread peace wherever you go”.

Փիթր Ճամպազեանը (Peter Jam) լիբանանահայ երաժիշտ է, ով հանձն է առել իր արվեստի միջոցով խաղաղության ու սիրո գաղափարը տարածել անխաղաղ Միջին Արեւելքից դեպի աշխարհի տարբեր ծայրերը:
Փիթր Ջամն իր երգերով նաեւ առաջնորդում է հակաթմրեցուցիչների, բնապահպանական եւ այլ արշավներ: Երգերի երաժշտությունն ու բառերը ինքն է հորինում: Երգում է 3 լեզուներով` հայերեն, արաբերեն, բայց հիմնականում անգլերեն (որպես համաշխարհային լեզու):
?Դրական պատգամ երաժշտության, արվեստի եւ խոսքի միջոցով? (?Positive message through the Power of Music, Art and Speech?)- Իր երաժշտական գործունեությունը հենց այսպես է վերնագրել Ճամպազեանը:
– 80-ականներին Լիբանանում պատերազմ էր, եւ ընտանիքիս հետ անցանք դրա միջով: Այդ ժամանակներից են խաղաղության ակտիվիստ լինելու մղումներս: Խաղաղությունն ամենակարեւոր բանն է: Դրա համար եմ ասում` կրոնս խաղաղությունն է? Իսկ երաժշտությամբ սկսել եմ զբաղվել դեռ դպրոցահասակ տարիքից` դպրոցում երաժշտական մի խումբ էի կազմել, որի մեջ ես կիթառահարն էի: Այնուհետեւ երգել էլ սկսեցի` կատարելով հիմնականում իմ իսկ ստեղծագործությունները:
Անցած տարի` Եւրոպայի շրջագայությունից առաջ, մի լրագրող Փիթրին հարցնում է. ?Դու հաճախ Միացյալ Նահանգներ ես գնում, վստահ այնտեղ ես սովորել, արդեն վերցրե՞լ ես դիպլոմդ?? ?Ես մինչեւ 9-րդ դասարան եմ դպրոց գնացել, հետո լքել եմ ուսումս, բայց ո'չ կրթությունն ու զարգացումը?,- պատասխանում է երիտասարդ երաժիշտը: Լրագրողը սկզբում կարծում է կատակասեր Փիթրի հումորներից է ու հետո ապշում, թե այսքան քիչ ուսանելով, ինչպես է մարդը կարողացել հասնել նման զարգացվածության ու դառնալ լայն աշխարհայացքի տեր?
– Կյանքիս նպատակը ուրախ լինելն է ու այդ ուրախությունը մարդկանց հետ կիսելը` լինեն հանդիսատեսներս, ընկերներս կամ` մյուսները: Փորձում եմ կիսել նաեւ նրանց տխրությունը, մի տեսակ հոգատարություն եմ զգում մարդկանց հանդեպ: Ինքս խուսափում եմ տխուր լինել. աշխարհն այնքան սիրուն է, այնքան սեր կա աշխարհում, ու այնքան շատ սեր ունենք, որ պիտի տանք աշխարհին?
Փիթրն ասում է, որ իր երգերով երկրպագուների հետ բաժնեկցում եմ այն ամենը, ինչ ունի սրտի ու մտքի մեջ, եւ երբ տեսնում է, որ նրանք ազդված, ներշնչված են, իրեն երջանիկ է զգում, քանի որ իր պատգամը հասցրած է լինում` ?Դրական պատգամ երաժշտության, արվեստի եւ խոսքի միջոցով? ?
– Եւրոպայի շրշագայությունիցս հետո գնացի Թուրքիա` Ստամբուլ: Խաղաղության նվիրված երգիս վիդիոյից մի մաս այնտեղ պիտի նկարահանեինք: Նկարեցինք Ատաթուրքի արձանի ու թուրքական մեծ դրոշի մոտ: Հետո երբ Հայաստան այցելեցի, մի ռադիոհարցազրույցի ժամանակ ուղիղ եթերում անակնկալորեն հարցրեցին. ?Դու գնացել ես Թուրքիայում ես նկարահանում արել, դու Ցեղասպանությունը մոռացել ես?? եւ նման այլ բաներ: Ես էլ պատասխանեցի, որ Ցեղասպանությունը երբեք չեմ մոռանա. նախնիներս ջարդվեցին ու դրա համար ես Լիբանան ծնվեցի: Բայց մենք պիտի թշնամուն ցույց տանք, թե ինչպիսի խաղաղ ու արվեսատասեր ազգ ենք ու իրենցից ավելի շատ ենք ուզում խաղաղ ապրել` մեր խաղաղասիրությունը պիտի ներկայացնենք :
– Ու խաղաղության մասին ես ոչ թե որպես հայ եմ խոսում այլ` որպես մարդ,- ասում է Փիթր Ջամը,-ես չեմ կարող հանդուրժել Ռուանդայի ու մյուս ջարդերը, ես անգամ կենդանիների հանդեպ ոտնձգությունները չեմ կարող հանդուրժել, էլ ուր մնաց իմ ազգի նկատմամբ կատարվածը: Բայց եւ այսպես, չարությունով չեմ լցվում, պետք է մի մի պահ մտածենք. 2012 -ն է հիմա, վայրագությամբ ու պատերազմով չենք կարող մեր իրավունքները պաշտպանել: Շատ ձեւեր կան, որ կարող ենք մեր արդար պահանջները ներկայացնել:
Mr.Boogie-ին ու Sir Spottie-ը Փիթրի լավագուն բարեկամներն են` երկու շուն, որ հաճախ իրենք էլ են երաժիշտի համար ներշնչանքի աղբյուր դառնում:
– Ներշնչվում եմ բնությունից, դեպքերից, հայտնի երաժիշտների կեանքերից, բայց հիմնականում` մարդկանց վարվելակերպից: Ինձ համար ավելի կարեւոր է ստեղծագործելը, քան երգելը: Երգը ստեղծագործությունը զգացումների վերածելն է` ավելի ընկալելի տարբերակով մատուցելը:
Փիթր Ջամի առաջին ձայնասկավառակը թողարկվեց ?Վայպրէյշըն? խորագիրով: Հիմա նոր ալբոմի համար պատրաստ նյութ ունի արդեն: Գրում է նաեւ ֆիլմերի երաժշտություններ, գրում է սիրով ու սիրո մասին, իսկ երբ սիրո մասին չի գրում, ուրեմն վստահ խաղախության գաղափարն է արծարծում, թեեւ ինքը սերն ու խաղաղությունը միշտ նույնացնում է:
– Երազանքս է պատգամս աշխարհի բոլոր ծայրերը հասցնել: Արդեն 3 տարի է ինչ սա է գլխավոր երազանքս: Եւ Հայրենիքս է երազ ինձ համար: Անցյալ տարի հրավիրվեցի Հայաստան եւ կարծես սկսեցի ապրել երազս? Հուսամ շարունակվի,- լավատեսությամբ ասում է նա:
Եւ խոսքն ուղղելով մարդկանց, ովքեր կյանքում ինչ-որ բան են նախձեռնել` Փիթրն ասում է.- Այս կյանքը լեռ մագլցելուն է նման. պետք է սիրել, սիրել ու սիրել, որովհետեւ այն շատ դժվար է եւ հոգնեցուցիչ: Սակայն երբ կա կամք եւ հավատք, անպայման նպատակը հասանելի է դառնում: Եւ խաղաղ լինել է պետք` նախ ամեն մարդ ինքզինքի հետ, որովհետեւ համոզված եմ` դրանով է պայմանավորված շրջապատի հետ խաղաղ լինելը ու խաղաղություն տարածելը:
