On 25th September 2011 the Yezidi community in Armenia celebrated the Malak Tawus in the divine shrine in the village of Shamiram in Aragatsotn Province in Armenia.
The Malak Tawus (or Peacock Angel) occupies a very unique place in the Yezidi faith. He is the protector of the land and is revealed in the shape of the Sun. According to the Yezidi tradition when God created man he ordered Malak Tawus to serve him, but the angel opposed saying that he can only serve the creator God. As punishment God expeled him from heaven, but later Malak Tawus was forgiven and he returned back to occupy his place next to God.
Many people from different provinces in Armenia had come to attend the celebrations. A pilgrimage was organized by the “Council of Young Yezidis” with the assistance of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
Besides Yezidis, Armenians also attended the celebration and spent cheerful time with their Yezidi friends. .
The celebrations began with the Yezidi dance and songs. The head of Shamiram village Mamoud Bek delivered a speech. Jendi Sharoyan and the village's first grade students took the podium.
The joy of the Yezidi youth escalated when the national flag was paraded in the sacred location.
Sacrifices were made, following the Yezidi tradition, in honour of Malak Tawus, in a festive atmosphere.
At the end of the celebrations the participants headed to the tomb of the Yezidi hero Usub Bek expressing their respect to the memory of this national figure. Their happiness and enthusiasm increased and they returned back home filled with great satisfaction.

Սեպտեմբերի քսանհինգին Արագածոտնի մարզի Շամիրամ գյուղում` Մալակ Տաուսի սրբավայրում Հայաստանում բնակվող եզդի համայնքը տոնում էր սուրբ Մալակ Տաուսի տոնակատարությունը:
Նախ նեշեմ որ այս հրեշտակը եզդիական պանթեոնում առանձնահատուկ տեղ է գրավում: Այն երկրի չերս կողմերի պահապանն է, հանդես է գալիս Արևի տեսքով: Ըստ եզդիական ավանդության երբ Աստված ստեղծեց մարդուն` հրամայեց Մալակ Տաուս հրեշտակին ծառայել նրան, սակայն հրեշտակը ընդիմացել է ասելով, որ նա միայն իր արարչին կարող է ծառայել այսինքն Աստծուն: Սրա հետևանքով աստված վտարում է նրան դրախտից: Սակայն հետագայում Մալակ Տաուս հրեշտակը ներվում է և իր տեղը գրավում Աստծո կողքին:
Տոնակատարության մասնակցլու էին եկել Հայաստանի տարբեր մարզերից: Ուխտագնացների այցելություն էր կազմակերպել նաև Եզդի Երիտասարդների Խորհուրդը ՀՀ Ազգային Ժողովի աջակցությամբ: Տոնակատարությանը մասնակից էին ոչ միայն եզդիները այլև հայերը ովքեր ուրախությամբ էին եկել:
Տոնակատարությունը սկսվեց եզդիական երգ ու պարով: Այնուհետև ելույթ ունեցան ` Շամիրամ գյուղի գյուղապետ Մամուդ բեկը, Ջնդի Շառոյանը և գյուղի դպրոցի առաջին դասարանի աշակերտները:
Ուշագրավ էր եզդի երիտասարդների ուրախությունը երբ սրբավայր բերվեց եզդիների ազգային դրոշը: Ըստ եզդիական ավանդույթի ցանկացած սրբի նվիրված տոնակատարությանը պետք է տվյալ սրբի պատվին զոհաբերություն մատուցվի, բացառություն չեր նաև այս տոնը: Զոհաբերության մատուցումից հետո գցվեցին տոնական սեղանները:
Միջոցառման ավարտին մասնակիցները գնացին եզդի հերոս Ուսուբ բեկի շիրիմին հարգանքի տուրք մատուցեցին և ուրախությունն ու ջերմությւնը սրտերում գնացին իրենց ընտանիքներ:
