A mission that involves all Armenians

The recent political developments in Armenia have great significance for all of us.
As a nation we should be working to build a country of Law, where immigration would cease to be considered as salvation by large portion of the population. There are so many duties resting on the shoulders of the state, but the current structure does not favor the fulfillment of any of these.
Armenians living in far countries need to see their fatherland as a place for beneficial investments, while those living in nearby locations, marred with unpredictable political conditions (such as Syria), need to consider Armenia as a place where they can take refuge and achieve final return, not only in principle, but also mainly as a practical solution.
In order to make the above happen, the ruling regime, which was, during the last twenty years, reproduced in Armenia in one form or another, and the country of Armenia itself, which has undergone a series of cosmetic interventions, are not enough and do not satisfy the minimum expectations of the citizens. They do not even satisfy the nostalgia-ridden Diasporan Armenians, who have the habit of seeing the disadvantages of the homeland with particularly forgiving eyes. A secure Armenia, however pleasant it might sound, is not enough and does not fulfill our dreams.
Nevertheless, we are interested that, the expected changes in Armenia would take place without brutal use of force and under completely peaceful and civilized conditions. We should be extremely alert about this, because the individuals, who are keen about preserving their interests, will not hesitate to exploit every possible mean, including any national, regional and international leverage, to maintain their existence.
We should be confident, but, at the same time, not disregard the difficulties and the provocations that might face us. Constructing a country is a far more difficult mission than declaring its independence. Without getting involved in the task of building the country, our work would remain incomplete, because nations do not live only with the declaration of independence.

Երկիր կերտելու հանգրուանին առջեւ

Հայաստանի մէջ արձանագրուած քաղաքական նորագոյն զարգացումները մեզ համար ճակատագրական իմաստ ունին:
Մենք ժամանակի հետ մրցումի մէջ պէտք է ըլլանք, որպէսզի Հայաստան ինքզինք հաստատէ որպէս օրէնքի երկիր ու դառնայ այնպիսի միջավայր, ուր արտագաղթը պիտի դադրի ժողովրդային լայն հատուծի համար ընդունիլ իբր փրկութեան ելք: Պետութեան ուսերուն վրայ դրուած են բազմաթիւ պարտաւորութիւններ, որոնք սակայն, ներկայ դրուածքով, անհնարին են որ իրականանան:
Հեռաւոր երկիրներու մէջ ապրող սփիւռքահայերը պէտք ունին Հայաստանը ընկալելու որպէս արդիւնաւէտ ներդրումներու երկիր, իսկ հարեւան շրջաններուն մէջ ապրողները, որոնք ենթակայ են քաղաքական անկանխատեսելի իրադարձութիւններու (ինչպէս ներկայիս Սուրիա) կարիք ունին Հայաստանը տեսնելու որպէս հոգատար ապաստանարան եւ վերջնական վերադարձի հող, ո՛չ միայն գաղափարական իմաստով, այլ մանաւանդ գործնականօրէն:
Այս բոլորը իրականացած տեսնելու համար, վերջին քսան տարիներու այս կամ այն ձեւով վերարտադրուող վարչակարգերը ու գեղեցկագիտական միջամտութիւններով մեզ հրամցուած Հայաստանը, այլեւս բաւարար չեն եւ չեն գոհացներ քաղաքացիներու նուազագոյն ակնկալութիւնները, նոյնիսկ չեն գոհացներ սփիւռքահայերու այն շերտը, որ ազգասիրական – հայրենաբաղձական յայտնի պատճառներով, հայրենիքի թերի կողմերը չափազանց ներողամիտ աչքերով նայելու պատմական վարժութիւն ունի: Ապահով Հայաստան մը, որքան որ հաճելի հնչէ մեր ականջին, բաւարար չէ եւ չի լրացներ մեր երազները:
Այդուհանդերձ, մեզ կը շահագրգռէ, որ Հայաստանի մէջ ակնկալուելիք փոփոխութիւնները տեղի ունենան առանց բիրտ ուժի կիրառումի եւ ամբողջովին խաղաղ եւ քաղաքակիրթ պայմաններու տակ: Գերազանցօրէն զգօն պէտք է ըլլանք այս կէտին մէջ, որովհետեւ իրենց շահերուն կառչած անձեր պիտի չվարանին օգտագործել ամէն միջոց, ինչպէս նաեւ ագգային, շրջանային եւ միջազգային ամէն լծակ, իրենց գոյութիւնը պահպանելու օգտին:
Ինքնավստա՛հ ըլլանք, բայց ճանչնանք թէ ինչ դժուարութիւններ եւ սադրանքներ կը սպասեն մեզ: Երկիր կերտելը աւելի դժուար առաքելութիւն է քան անկախութեան հռչակումը: Առանց միջամուխ ըլլալու երկիր կերտելու աշխատանքին, մեր գործը անկատար մնացած պիտի ըլլայ, որովհետեւ միայն անկախութեան հռչակումով չէ որ ազգեր կ'ապրին:
